Igwe Omor receives Sen. Dr. Chris Ngige during his Ofala Festival he traditional ruler of Omor, His Royal Highness Igwe Oranu Chris Chidume, Eze Ana-Ukwu, Eze Igulube of Omor received the former governor of Anambra State and the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Sen Dr. Chris Ngige, in his palace during his 2019 Ofala Festival, penultimate Saturday.

The Minister who represented the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari felicitated with Igwe Omor on his 2019 Ofala Festival.

In welcoming the minister, HRH, Igwe Oranu Chris Chidume appreciated the president for deeming it fit to grace his 2019 Ofala festival. He noted that Omor has been an important geographic location to the Federal Government. Aside the fact that the community hosts the Lower Anambra-Imo River Basin Development Authority, the town through its rich agricultural potentials, is reputable for its rice production. This according to Igwe Omor, is in line with the Federal Government’s policy direction towards revolutionalizing agriculture in Nigeria. Ngige in his response, thanked the traditional ruler of Omor for the warm reception he and the entire people of Omor accorded him. He promised to convey their regards to the president. He promised to look at the needs of the community especially as regards the Otuocha-Omor-Adani road which when rehabilitated, will unleash tremendous economic opportunities to the community and beyond.

The minister described Igwe Omor as an honest man who has the interest of his community at heart. In his words; "We are here today to felicitate with His Royal Highness, Igwe Oranu Chris Chidume on his Ofala Festival. As you are aware, he is the recipient of the Federal Government's National Productivity Order of Merit Award. He is also a friend of the Ministry of Labour and Employment. He is a creator of jobs, an employer and an industrialist of a great repute"

"So we decided to be here with him and felicitate with him. We have also noted the needs of his community Omor which some of them are what the Federal Government can assist him and the community with. You may also know that the community has a Federal Government establishment; the Lower Anambra-Imo River Basin Development Authority. So the community is at the heart of the Federal Governenment"
